Minister Visits Marakabei-Monontša Construction Project
The Minister of Public Works Honourable Lebohang Monaheng visited the Marakabei-Monontša Road Project on Monday 22nd June, 2020. The main purpose of the visit was to learn and inspect the progress made in the construction of Marakabei-Monontša Road and the Hololo Bridge.
In his trip, the Minister and his delegation had a meeting with the contractor where he was briefed about the successes and challenges of the project. The Minister was happy with the progress to date and indicated that it is important for the project to be completed at a stipulated time.
The tender for the construction of the road was won by the China-Geo and its worth more than M900 million and will connect Lesotho and South Africa. The official sod-turning of the Marakabei-Monontša project was held on Thursday 31st January, 2019.
